Water-repellent and penetrating oil primer.
Gjøco Oil Primer is a thixotropic primer for exterior wood. Contains film-protecting agents against mold. The paint is alkyd and oil-based, penetrates well into the wood, and provides effective impregnation. Gjøco Oil Primer is ideal for priming pine and spruce timber outdoors. Can also be used on pressure-treated timber.

APPLICATION DATA
Application method: Brush. Do not spray.
Thinner / cleaning agent: White spirit
Film thickness, wet: 80 micrometers
Film thickness, dry: 20 micrometers
Recommended coverage: 6-10 m² / liter, planed wood; 4-8 m² / liter, sawn timber.
Drying: (23°C, 50% relative humidity)
Dust dry: 5 hours. Low temperature extends drying time
Min. recoating interval: Minimum 24 hours. Low temperature extends drying time.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Pre-treatment: The surface must be clean and dry before painting work begins.
New wood: New untreated wood that has been exposed for more than 4 weeks should be wire-brushed before applying Gjøco Oil Primer. Grease and other dirt should be cleaned with Gjøco House Wash.
On planed wood: Sharp edges and other glossy surfaces may require sanding with a wire brush before priming.
Previously treated wood: Previously treated surfaces should be brushed clean of paint flakes and loose wood fibers using a wire brush/sanding.
Painting: Gjøco Oil Primer is ready to use and should not be thinned. New timber should be treated with Oil Primer as soon as possible after installation. Paint with a broad brush. Apply 1 coat on bare wood; on absorbent surfaces, use as much primer as necessary. Ensure that all end grain is sufficiently saturated (3-4 coats).
Other information:
Stir any separated oil for a moment before use. Use clear Oil Primer under transparent glazes. Always perform a test application.
Waste management
Liquid paint should not be poured into drains or the environment but must be delivered to an approved hazardous waste collection facility.
