-The wall must be solid and clean, with no loose wallpaper flakes or filler dust.

-If you have not removed all old layers of wallpaper, which is recommended, it is a good idea to prime the wall with an insulating/sealing paint. This is done to reduce the risk of the old wallpaper bubbling when you apply the new one. Suitable paint includes Sigma Isotop Primer or Jotun’s wallpaper primer. Once painted, lightly sand and wash down with paint cleaner.
