-The wall must be firm and clean, with no loose wallpaper flakes or filler dust.
-If you have not removed all old layers of wallpaper, which is recommended, it is a good idea to seal the wall by painting it with an insulating/blocking primer. This is done to reduce the risk of the old wallpaper bubbling when you apply new wallpaper. Suitable paint includes Sigma Isotop Primer or Jotun’s wallpaper primer. Once painted, sand lightly and wipe down with a sugar soap solution.
-Where applicable, prime the wall, preferably in white. The entire wall must be a uniform shade if the wallpaper is of the type mentioned in point 3 above.
