Product Description
Herdins Lackbets Aqua is a ready-to-use wood stain with binder based on micropigments. It has a longer open time than our traditional wood stains and is therefore easy to apply. For those who are inexperienced, it is easy to achieve an even, attractive result and a durable surface – all in one step.
Lackbets Aqua is available in 10 different colors. The product is water-based and Swan-labeled, making it gentle on the environment and pleasant to use. Furthermore, it is less affected by sunlight than other wood stains. For this reason, Lackbets Aqua is a good option for those who value environmental profiling and for surfaces that will be exposed to significant sunlight.
Pre-treatment
Always perform a test stain on the same type of wood to check the shade before you begin. Sand the surface in the direction of the grain with 120-grit sandpaper or similar. Previously treated surfaces must be sanded and possibly treated with sugar soap (målarsoda). The sugar soap must then be rinsed off thoroughly.
Application
Stir the wood stain before you begin working. The stain should be applied generously and brushed out in the direction of the grain. The stain is quickly smoothed out on the surface with a wrung-out sponge or a wiped-off brush. If you see tendencies toward overlapping, dampen the area with more stain and work the section with a white abrasive pad so that the color is evened out. Finish by wiping/smoothing with a wrung-out sponge.
Post-treatment
Post-brushing with a panel brush or white abrasive pad provides a more pleasant surface. If a higher wear resistance is required on the surface layer, overcoat with Herdins Betslack Aqua.
Cleaning of tools
Wipe brushes and other tools as much as possible.
Wash with water and dish soap.
Handling & Storage
Store frost-free in a tightly sealed original container; avoid spills and skin/eye contact.
Waste management
Residual product should be taken to an environmental station as water-based paint waste. Empty, cleaned packaging should be sorted as metal.
PLEASE NOTE
Lackbets Aqua has slightly lower transparency compared to Äkta Bets or Lackbets. If you are treating previously varnished wood, it also does not have the same adhesion capability as the traditional wood stain. If you have purchased multiple cans of the same color, we recommend that you mix them before beginning treatment.
