Description
Gjöco Protectol is an impregnating oil for exterior wood with anti-rot properties. Its penetrating ability is outstanding, and the linseed oil effectively prevents cracking. Gjöco Protectol can be painted over with other paints. The clear version can also be partially mixed into other paints to reinforce rot protection.

Pre-treatment
The surface must be clean and dry. New, impregnated wood must be dry before treatment; this can take anywhere from a few weeks to 1–2 months. Rinse and brush off any impregnation residues. Weathered, gray wood must be steel-brushed/sanded before treatment. Previously treated surfaces should be scraped and brushed clean of loose particles. Dirty surfaces and/or surfaces affected by black mold should be cleaned with Gjöco Terrace Cleaner.
Application
Gjöco Protectol should be stirred well before use. On new wood, apply 2 or more coats wet-on-wet. Previously treated wood should be treated with 3–4 coats as needed. Protectol should penetrate into the wood without forming a film. A film on the surface can lead to peeling. Wipe off any excess with a lint-free cloth in the direction of the grain.
Storage
Close the lid tightly when storing the product to prevent spills and drying out. The product must be transported and stored upright, in a dry, frost-free place. Gjøco paint - exterior.
Waste management
The product must not be poured into drains or nature, but must be taken to an approved collection point for hazardous waste. Empty, clean, and dry packaging should be delivered to an approved reception point.
Other information
There are several different types of impregnated materials. Check with the supplier to see when they recommend the first treatment. Cloths etc. that have been used must be burned under supervision or wetted thoroughly with water due to the risk of spontaneous combustion.
