Gjøco Boiled Linseed Oil is a highly refined vegetable oil with excellent penetrating properties. For both indoor and outdoor use. Can be used for applications such as wood impregnation for boats, thinning of linseed oil products, and the manufacture of hand-mixed paints.

Product description
Boiled linseed oil is heavier, thicker, and darker than raw linseed oil and, unlike raw linseed oil, forms a film during drying, resulting in a better protective surface. It expands by approximately 15% when drying, effectively sealing deep into the wood. The linseed oil oxidizes rapidly with mild heat generation; the drying time is one to a few days.
Boiled linseed oil dries and can be used as a top coat, meaning it is film-forming.
Pre-treatment
The surface must be dry and free from grease, oil, and loose old paint. Grease, oil, and other contaminants should be removed using Gjøco Krafttvätt or Gjøco Hustvätt. Follow the instructions on the packaging. Rinse well with clean water. Allow the surface to dry before further treatment.
Application
Stir the oil well before use. If thinning is necessary, use water, Gjøco Mineral Spirits (Lacknafta), or Gjøco Pure Turpentine, depending on the intended use.
NOTE! Linseed oil requires a long drying time and may only be applied at temperatures above +2°C.
Linseed oil is not water-resistant.
Rags and cloths with boiled linseed oil must be treated as flammable waste due to the risk of spontaneous combustion; burn under supervision or moisten with water.
Storage
Containers must be kept tightly closed to prevent spills and drying out. The product must be transported and stored upright, in a dry place, and protected from frost.
Waste management
The product must not be poured into drains or released into the environment, but should be delivered to a recycling center. Empty, clean, and dry plastic packaging can be disposed of as plastic waste.
