Gjøco oil-based clear varnish is an extra light varnish based on polyurethane. It provides a hard and durable surface that is easy to keep clean. Contains light filters that reduce the yellowing of the wood. Gjøco clear varnish is used on spruce and pine floors, parquet floors, doors, windows, furniture, panels, moldings, etc. Can also be used for wooden boats above the waterline, etc.

Product description
Pre-treatment
The surface should be washed with Gjøco House Wash to remove grease, soap residues, and floor wax. Previously painted surfaces and factory-applied parquet varnish should be lightly sanded, vacuumed, and wiped with a lint-free cloth, preferably microfiber. Be particularly careful along the edges, moldings, and door frames. The use of a sanding machine/buffer ensures even and thorough sanding. Perform a test application if the previous varnish type or oil is unknown. Clean the floor before test painting to ensure good drying and adhesion.
Application method
Stir the varnish thoroughly before and during use. On untreated wood, 2-3 coats of Gjøco clear varnish are recommended. Previously varnished surfaces require 1-2 coats. On cork, porous, and extra-absorbent substrates, apply at least 5 coats. On untreated wood, thin the first coat of varnish with 10-20% white spirit. Sand away any raised wood fibers with fine sandpaper. Remove sanding dust thoroughly before the next coat, which is applied undiluted. Light sanding between coats is recommended to ensure adhesion.
Other information
Cans with the same production number should be mixed before use to avoid gloss differences. Thick coats and low temperatures increase drying time. Avoid exposing the varnish to heavy stress (spills, pressure, etc.) during the first week after varnishing. Wait at least 3-4 days before placing heavy furniture, etc., on the painted surface and 1 week before placing rugs.

Marine sealant (MS SEALANT) on ship floors can affect the paint's drying time. Perform a test application.

Note: Stir thoroughly before use. Contents in packaging with different production numbers should be mixed together before use.
