Beckers Perfekt Plus Facade, ready-mixed colors DISCONTINUED, while stocks last

Ensure the surface is in good condition before painting by washing with Beckers Outdoor Wash and using Algae and Mold Remover if necessary. Brush or scrape away loose paint or cracked paint layers as well as porous, grayed wood. Round off sharp corners and edges. Planed surfaces and hewn logs should be roughened with coarse sandpaper before painting. Sand glossy, hard paint surfaces to a matte finish. Treat end grain, joints, and nail heads with Primex Primer Oil Plus. Wipe away excess after 30 minutes. Then prime the entire facade, including end grain, with Primex Wood Primer Plus. When repainting surfaces in poor condition, all surfaces must be primed with Primex Wood Primer Plus; this also applies to repainting old alkyd and oil-painted surfaces. PAINTING ON FACTORY-PRIMED PANELS: Panels purchased factory-primed with Pinja Protect G/GM from Tikkurila Sverige AB can be considered to have sufficient base protection. Our recommendation is topcoat treatment with Perfekt Plus Facade, 2 coats (8–10 m²/l) on factory-primed panels, 1 coat (6 m²/l) on intermediate-primed surfaces. Keep in mind that factory-primed panels exposed to the elements for more than 10 months need to be primed for adequate protection.

Apply 2 finishing coats with Perfekt Plus Facade. Apply generously, see our instructions on paint consumption. Paint end grain, joints, and nail heads carefully as well. When using a sprayer or roller, the paint must be finished off with a brush.

Rinse the facade with clean, cold water. Apply Beckers Outdoor Wash, diluted according to recommendations for the intended purpose. Then scrub the surface and rinse thoroughly with water.

In hot and dry weather, the detergent can dry. Water (dampen) the facade before applying Outdoor Wash. Therefore, wash smaller sections at a time. Surfaces exposed to mold should be allowed to dry thoroughly after cleaning with Beckers Outdoor Wash.

Then apply Beckers Algae & Mold Remover, diluted according to recommendations for the intended purpose. Allow the surface to dry.

Note that Beckers Outdoor Wash can have an etching effect on glass. Therefore, cover windows carefully before washing the facade. High pressure can also be used to water and rinse off the surface; remember to direct the stream along the facade, not straight at the surface, so that dirt and water are not forced into the facade.

When maintenance-washing painted surfaces, they should be in good enough condition that they do not immediately soak up water during cleaning (a little water always penetrates). If the surfaces are in such poor condition that they soak up water, i.e., the surfaces turn dark, we recommend repainting. Always start washing clean from the bottom up. Use municipal water pressure when washing wooden facades.

Our recommendation is that cleaning agents should always be rinsed off thoroughly. Note that Beckers Algae & Mold Remover should not be rinsed off. For more information, contact your nearest Beckers retailer.

Stir before use! The substrate must be dry when painting, max 16% moisture content. Do not paint on sun-heated surfaces. Do not paint when there is a risk of rain or dew within 1–2 hours after completing the painting. NOTE! When spraying, use a filtering half-mask against solid and liquid particles (FFP2).
