Tray with a pattern designed by William Morris (1834-96). A large number of Morris's patterns can be found at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London - the world's leading museum of art and design. Made in Sweden. Dishwasher safe. The pattern was first produced between 1868-70 as wallpaper under the name "Indian". It was originally drawn by George Gilbert Scott and subsequently taken over by Morris. William Morris (1834-1896) was an English textile designer and author, as well as a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts movement. He was also a key contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and their production methods. The V&A has an extensive collection of his patterns which remain a source of inspiration for artists all over the world. The material is FSC®-certified birch veneer with a protective melamine surface, which makes the product highly durable.
