Fiskars

The origins of Fiskars
In the 17th century, several ironworks were founded in Finland. In western Uusimaa there were extensive forests, untapped water power, and good waterways, which made the area an excellent center for the Finnish iron industry. Antskog ironworks was founded around 1630 and the Billnäs ironworks in 1641. Fiskars was founded in 1649 and is today one of the oldest companies in the Western world.
