Description
New! Nordsjö Original Knot and Stain Primer is a water-borne blocking paint for wood. The product is used indoors on untreated or previously treated wood to reduce the risk of discolouration/staining from knots, yellowed wood, etc.
Nordsjö Original Knot and Stain Primer can also be used as a finishing coat for, e.g., panel ceilings.
Product description
The surface must be clean and dry.
Older untreated wood and previously varnished/painted surfaces should be washed with sugar soap, rinsed well, and dried. Glossy surfaces should be sanded down. Nordsjö Original Knot and Stain Primer is applied in 1-2 coats depending on the risk of breakthrough.
If the product is to be used for a finishing coat, apply an additional layer. Always apply two coats over knots on untreated wood or if the surface is heavily discoloured. In cases where the surface is heavily discoloured, the first coat may become discoloured; however, this is fixed as the paint film dries, so the risk of further staining is low. Nordsjö
Original Knot and Stain Primer must dry for at least 5 hours between each coat. For optimal blocking effect, the drying time can be extended up to 16 hours. Note! Wood is a natural material, and the way the timber has been dried/stored is of great importance. Knot bleed-through can therefore occur over time.
We recommend that difficult knots be treated with Nordsjö Original Knot Varnish before treatment with Nordsjö Original Knot and Stain Primer. Do not paint when the surface temperature is below +5 ºC.
