Asphalt-based cold application coating with reinforcing fibers. Used as a single coat to extend the durability of roofing felt. The roof coating together with reinforcing mat is used to build a new seamless waterproofing layer.

Watch out for the roof's weak points. How is your roof actually doing? If you have a felt, metal, or fiber cement roof that is older than five years, it is high time to perform an inspection. No insurance covers leak damage caused by lack of maintenance. If you wait too long, the damage can become very expensive, and you also risk having to replace the entire roof. All roofs are significantly affected by sunlight, but also by air pollution and flue gases from the chimney. Cracks, drying out, and blisters in the roofing felt are warning signs that you must take seriously. Rust spots on a metal roof are also alarming. If you have a flat roof, you risk having water collect in depressions and gutters, which can cause problems in the long run. Seams and connections around chimneys and vents should also be carefully examined.

Felt roof single coat

Recommended for light renovation of an existing felt roof when the felt is not too damaged/old or when full reinforcement has already been carried out on the roof. The substrate must be well-cleaned and dry. Felt blisters or similar are adjusted (using Asphalt Putty and Asphalt Adhesive) so that the surface is smooth enough to achieve a good result. Larger damage and cracks over beams are reinforced with Reinforcing Mat. The roof coating is usually spread out with a roof brush in the longitudinal direction of the felt and towards the overlap so that the joint is filled. The amount of material used should be approx. 0.8 kg/m², depending on surface structure and felt quality. |
Metal roof single coat

Clean the roof of dirt and remove any old paint and rust by scraping or blasting. Prime rust-affected metal surfaces with Grip On Primer. Cracks and holes can easily be repaired with Asphalt Putty or Asphalt Adhesive. Larger repairs are reinforced with Reinforcing Mat. The roof coating is normally applied with a roof brush in combination with a brush for edge painting. Material consumption should be 0.5-0.7 kg/m². |
Felt roof full reinforcement

Step 1 The substrate must be well-cleaned and dry. Felt blisters or similar are adjusted (using Asphalt Putty and Asphalt Adhesive) so that the surface is smooth enough to achieve a good result. Larger damage and cracks over beams are reinforced with Reinforcing Mat. |

Step 2 The first layer is laid out in the same way as for a single coat. The material consumption should be approx. 1.0 kg/m², depending on surface structure and felt quality. The roof coating is applied at least as wide as the width of the reinforcing mat. |

Step 3 Lay the reinforcing mat in the longitudinal direction of the underlying felt. The entire surface must be "brushed over" with the brush so that the reinforcement is pressed into the roof coating. |

Step 4 Finally, a full-covering layer of roof coating (1.25 - 1.5 kg/m²) is applied. The entire procedure is repeated, and the reinforcement is overlapped by 3 to 5 cm each time. The top layer of roof coating is spread with long brush strokes so that the surface becomes as smooth as possible. At connections, the reinforcement is laid up a few cm so that the felt fold is reinforced and the risk of leakage is minimized. Hoods, collars, and other details are completely coated, or the roof coating is pulled up approx. 5 cm and finished with a straight edge. |
