-The wall must be solid and clean, with no loose wallpaper flakes or putty dust.

-If you have not removed all old layers of wallpaper, which is recommended, it is a good idea to seal the wall by painting it with an insulating/blocking primer. This reduces the risk of the old wallpaper bubbling under your new wallpaper. Suitable paint includes Sigma Isotop Primer or Jotun Primer for wallpaper. Once painted, sand lightly and wash with sugar soap.
