The product is based on natural vegetable oils that penetrate deep into the wood and keep it healthy and elastic. The wood surface receives generally very good protection and becomes highly weather-resistant, durable, safe to walk on, and easy to keep clean. The product is specially developed to provide the best protection for wooden decks, decking, pool surrounds, garden furniture and other wood materials outdoors and indoors that are exposed to high wear. The silk-matte surface provides a natural transparent look and highlights the wood's own properties and grain. The product is ready to use and should not be diluted or thinned in any other way.

SAICOS Special Wood Oil mixed with additives must be used immediately (within 24 hours) and it is important to stir the can thoroughly before use and at regular intervals throughout the work. Information: All articles within the SAICOS Special Wood Oil product group can be mixed and blended. Appearance, product consumption and final result depend on several factors such as the quality and age of the wood, how the wood has been prepared by sanding and/or cleaning. We always recommend performing your own test on a smaller part of the current wood surface before the entire surface is treated. It is important to check product consumption and that the desired result is achieved. Always note which product has been used or which products have been mixed. Preparation: The raw wood must have a maximum moisture content of 18% and the wood surface must be dry, clean and frost-free. For best results, all previous surface treatments should be sanded off. On surfaces previously treated with SAICOS Special Wood Oil or other open-pored oil, it is generally sufficient to clean the surface thoroughly with SAICOS Wood Brightner before application with SAICOS Special Wood Oil. This also applies if the wood has grayed heavily. See separate instructions for SAICOS Wood Brightener. Sanding should always be performed on painted and lacquered surfaces before application with SAICOS Special Wood Oil. Sanding should be performed so that all paint and lacquer residues are removed. Never use finer sandpaper than P150. A freshly sanded wood surface should be treated immediately because the wood is very sensitive to moisture, liquid spills and dirt after sanding. Tips and advice: On softwoods that are sensitive to discoloration and so-called blue stain, e.g. pine, Douglas fir, larch and oak, basic treatment with SAICOS Wood Impregnation 9003 is recommended (which must dry into the wood for at least 18 hours before final treatment with SAICOS Special Wood Oil). Things to consider: No wood surface treatment work should take place in direct sunlight and/or in precipitation of hail, rain or snow. Always plan so that you can quickly protect freshly sanded wood and undried/hardened product from strong sunlight and wetness. Drying times are affected by temperature (Temp: 8 – 35 degrees C) and relative humidity (RH: 30 - 60%). Consumption 1L / 14 m2. Divided into 2 treatments with SAICOS Flat Brush 210mm / 150 mm, this provides a finished surface. NOTE! Consumption can be strongly affected by the age, quality and preparation of the raw wood. New and non-impregnated wood should be treated on all sides with selected SAICOS products before assembly. Fresh and new impregnated timber should generally be thoroughly hardened/dried for at least 6 months before any additional treatment is performed. Some exotic wood species require special measures before they can be treated. Always consult the retailer of the wood product. Always read labels and product information before use. Step-by-step instructions (read through all existing text in this technical data sheet before starting). First application: Stir the can and pour a suitable amount into a SAICOS tray. Moisten the tip of the SAICOS Flat Brush and apply the product thinly and evenly along the wood grain. Drying time: at least 8 hours. Dust-dry after approx. 4 hours. Second application: Repeat the treatment with SAICOS Special Wood Oil. Drying time: at least 8 hours. Dust-dry after approx. 4 hours. This product can also be processed mechanically. Simple maintenance: Cleaning: We advise against the use of high-pressure washers. Easily remove troublesome green coatings with SAICOS Green-Ex. Treat grayish surfaces with SAICOS Wood Brightener. Renovation: Clean the wood surface with SAICOS Wood Brightener according to instructions. Apply the desired SAICOS Special Wood Oil. Use SAICOS Brush Cleaner for cleaning equipment and tools. All used tools, rags, sanding dust, etc., must be handled as flammable - risk of spontaneous combustion.
