Description
Nordsjö Murtex Silicate is a full-matt, diffusion-open, 1-component water glass-based facade paint. Nordsjö Murtex Silicate is primarily intended for painting exterior and interior plaster surfaces.
It can also be used for fiber cement boards and facing bricks, as well as old silicate and mineral paint-coated surfaces.
Product description
The substrate must be firm and clean from dirt, grease, and similar contaminants. Poorly bonded or chalking surfaces should be thoroughly brushed down to a firm substrate. Cracks should be scraped open and repaired with suitable material.
New painting: For new painting, highly absorbent surfaces, e.g., old lime-painted surfaces, should be pre-treated with Murtex Silicate Primer thinned with water 1:1. Well-bonded substrates do not require pre-treatment. Prime with Murtex Silicate mixed with Murtex Silicate Primer 2:1. Finish with 1-2 coats. Tools: Brush, roller, sprayer. with Murtex Silicate.
Repainting: Old loose paint should be scraped away to a firm substrate. For best results, highly absorbent surfaces, e.g., old lime-painted surfaces, should be pre-treated with Murtex Silicate Primer thinned with water 1:1. Finish with 1-2 coats of Murtex Silicate, possibly thinned with max 10% water. When applying, cross-rolling provides the best color uniformity. Warning! Silicate has a corrosive effect on glass, ceramics, tiles, natural stone, and metal. Protect surrounding surfaces against splashes, and always wear safety goggles and gloves. Never paint below +10°C or at high relative humidity (over 80%). Tools: Brush, roller, sprayer.

Health and Environment
Reseal opened container well. Scrape paint from
tools before cleaning. Do not pour paint into the drain,
nor when cleaning tools. Liquid paint residues and
washing liquid must be taken to an environmental station.
Empty packaging is left for recycling and
sorted as plastic; empty metal cans and
metal handles are sorted as metal.
