Area of use
Used as a primer on absorbent and loose mineral substrates before further treatment with silicate systems.
Before further treatment, brick must be plastered according to current standards.

Note
The result depends on construction, the quality and condition of the substrate, pretreatment, temperature, application, etc. JOTUN Silikat Murprimer cannot be used together with JOTUN Impregnering mur & sten.
Application tools / methods
Coarse, alkali-resistant brush. Apply from the bottom up on untreated wall/plaster.

4-8m²/liter, depends on the absorbency of the substrate.
Conditions during application
During application, the temperature of the air and the substrate must be above +5 °C and below +25 °C. Must not be applied in direct sunlight.
Drying times
The drying time depends on the substrate temperature (min. +5 °C), penetration into the substrate, humidity, and air circulation. Higher humidity significantly extends drying times.
The stated drying time is measured under the following conditions:
Humidity (RH) Air temperature 50 % 10 °C 50 % 23 °C
Recoatable after 24 h 12 h 23 °C
Dry to touch 1 h Substrate temperature 10 °C
Instructions for use
Pretreatment:
The substrate must be clean, firm, and dry: Mold, soot, and other dirt are removed by washing with JOTUN 3-in-1 Power Wash and mold disinfection. Rinse with clean water.
All structural defects must be repaired before painting work begins.
The surfaces must be dry before further treatment, and plaster repairs must cure for at least 4 weeks before painting.
Silicate etches window glass, metal, and natural stone, which should therefore be covered.
Untreated brick must be plastered before painting.
Plastering work must be carried out according to current standards.
Surfaces previously treated with organic paint must be restored to their original condition (bare plaster) before recoating.
Priming:
All bare plaster as well as strongly/unevenly absorbent substrates are primed with JOTUN Silikat Murprimer mixed 1:1 with water. Apply from the bottom up.
Intermediate coat:
If there is a need to even out structural differences in the substrate and fill small cracks, apply 1 x JOTUN Silikat Murfiller (diluted with JOTUN Silikat Murprimer 5:1) before the final coat with JOTUN Silikat Murfärg. JOTUN
Silikat Murfärg used as an intermediate coat in the system build-up is added JOTUN Silikat Murprimer in a ratio of 2 parts wall paint to 1 part primer.
Final coat:
JOTUN Silikat Murfärg.
