Description
OS106 is a plastic glazing putty based on semi-drying oils and petrochemical binders. The product has a smooth, easy-to-work-with consistency and has been used and appreciated by glaziers since the 1950s. In larger packaging, OS106 is sold under the name OS108 Mastic.

Technical properties
Preparation: Glazing rebates, glazing beads, and glass must be dry, clean, and free from grease. Glazing should not be performed at temperatures below +5°C – unless the contact surfaces are preheated or dried. Untreated or pressure-impregnated wood must always be sealed with primer. The exterior of the window frame must be surface-treated so that the wood does not absorb moisture. Glazed/stained wood requires maintenance every one to two years. Dip priming is not sufficient as protection.
Application: Dip-primed windows must be immediately surface-treated on-site after installation. Cracking in the putty after some time is not a material defect, but is often caused by insufficient sealing primer – as the wood absorbs oil from the putty. Thorough sealing primer application is crucial for the best results. Painting over should only be done once the putty has dried to achieve optimal durability. Always paint over the putty rebate and at least 2 mm onto the glass. Suitable paint types: Alkyd, linseed oil, and acrylic paints. Other paints should be tested on a small area before use.
Drying time: Approx. 7 days. Dries faster outdoors.
Cleaning: Residues and tools can be cleaned with white spirit.
Consumption:
1 cartridge is sufficient for approx. 7 meters of putty rebate.
1 liter is sufficient for approx. 20 meters of filled putty rebate.
Note: If it is not painted over, there is a risk that the putty will detach from the surface and cracks will form.
