How to do it
Pre-treatment: The substrate must be dry and free from grease, oil, and loose old paint. Clean with Gjøco Krafttvätt (Power Wash) according to the instructions and rinse well with clean water afterwards.
Application: Stir the tar thoroughly before use. If it is viscous, it can be heated in a water bath to approx. 30°C for better consistency. For extra effective impregnation, it can be mixed with one-third boiled or raw linseed oil and one-third turpentine. Apply with a brush/broom.
Tip: Exterior walls should be treated every year for the first few years. Southern and western walls are more exposed and may need to be treated more frequently. If the wall turns whitish after heavy rain – brush it off and treat again when the surface is dry.
Keep in mind: Tar is a natural product and the color may vary slightly between batches. Always mix cans with different batch numbers.
