Product description
Herregård Maximal is a durable and opaque emulsion paint for outdoor use, based on acrylate and water-dilutable alkyd. It provides excellent adhesion, protects wooden surfaces, and retains its gloss and color over a long period.
Contains film preservatives that prevent the growth of mold and algae.
Herregård Maximal can be used outdoors on new, old, glazed, painted, or pressure-treated wooden surfaces. Used in a system with Gjøco Oljegrunning (Oil Primer). Can also be used as a topcoat on primed metal and plastic found on buildings.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Pre-treatment: The surface must be clean and dry. Previously treated surfaces should be cleaned with Gjøco Krafttvätt. New and bare wooden surfaces that have been untreated for more than 4 weeks should be wire-brushed and washed with Gjøco Hustvätt before priming. On planed timber and other smooth, hard surfaces, wire-brushing/sanding may be necessary to ensure adhesion. Sharp edges should be rounded to ensure the best possible edge coverage. Loose paint/stain/glaze flakes and loose wood fibers are removed by wire-brushing/scraping. Pressure-treated timber that may be wax or silicone treated must be degreased with, for example, methylated spirits.
Priming:
On new, untreated, bare or treated timber and putty joints, apply one coat of Gjøco Oljegrunning. End grain and cut surfaces should be well saturated with Gjøco Oljegrunning, preferably 3-4 coats wet-on-wet.
Application
On new untreated wood, apply 2 coats, and on new planed wood, apply 3 coats. On previously treated wood, apply 1-2 coats as needed, or up to 3 coats on planed wood.
Storage
The product must be transported and stored in a dry, frost-free place. The product must be transported and stored in an upright position.
Waste disposal
Liquid paint should not be poured into drains or the environment but must be delivered to an approved hazardous waste collection point.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Different production numbers should be mixed before use to avoid gloss and color differences. The substrate must be firm, clean, and dry before the paint is applied. Surfaces previously treated with linseed oil paint/stain may blister. Previous treatment with tar can lead to discoloration, which is particularly visible in light colors. Dew on semi-dry surfaces can cause dull spots. Direct sunlight on a wet or semi-dry surface can cause surface drying and blistering. Do not use on frozen surfaces. Painting on fire-retardant surfaces can lead to salt efflorescence and peeling. The product should not be thinned or mixed with other oils/paint products. Bases are tintable with GjøcoMix. The air and surface temperature during application must be at least +5°C.

Drying (23°C, 50% relative humidity): Depends on temperature, humidity, wind, and layer thickness. Do not paint if there is a risk of dew or rain.
