Falu Fasad (formerly Fasadfärg) is a modern alkyd oil-based emulsion paint with properties similar to traditional distemper (slamfärg). It is matte and easy to apply.

NOTE Not recommended for previous paint systems containing acrylate binders, and we also advise against painting with the Falu white color on pressure-treated wood, as certain impregnating liquids can affect the color.
Pre-treatment
New or factory-primed wood and pressure-treated wood: Remove any dirt and dust and ensure the surface is paintable. Do not paint on fresh pressure-treated wood; factory-primed wood with an oily primer is also less suitable as a substrate.
Previously painted surfaces:
Brush off all loose paint. Thick layers of paint should be scraped down. A thorough inspection should be carried out to look for any defects. In particular, examine for damage caused by moisture. Soft, rot-damaged wood must be replaced and grey, weather-worn wood removed. Ensure the facade is dry before painting – a maximum moisture content of 17%.
For other types of substrates, consult your paint dealer.
Painting
Stir the paint well. On new wood, first prime with one coat of thinned paint, 5–10% water. Wait at least 24 hours before applying the final coat of undiluted paint. Paint thinly, work the paint in well, and paint the entire length of the panel board. Cover details on the house that should not be painted with plastic. Leave the protection in place until the paint is fully water-resistant. When changing colors on a facade previously painted with distemper, it is important to brush off the original distemper thoroughly so that the older pigments do not affect the new paint. Verify that the desired color produced by the tinting system is approved by us (see homepage).

Which surfaces is the paint suitable for?
Wooden facades and fences. Not recommended for surfaces previously painted with acrylate-based paint systems.
Do I need to prime?
No, the paint does not require a separate primer. On new wood, it is sufficient to thin the first coat with 5–10% water.
How much paint do I need?
1 liter covers 4–6 m². Calculate your area and add approx. 10% margin.
In what temperature can I paint?
Paint in dry weather and avoid frost. The substrate should have a moisture content of max 17%.
How long does the paint last?
Longer repainting intervals than traditional red distemper (Rödfärg) thanks to the alkyd oil-based formula.
