Gjøco clear coat oil-based is an extra light lacquer based on polyurethane. It provides a hard and durable surface that is easy to keep clean. Contains light filters that reduce the yellowing of the wood. Gjøco clear coat is used on spruce and pine floors, parquet floors, doors, windows, furniture, panels, moldings, etc. Can also be used for wooden boats above the waterline, etc.

Product description
Pre-treatment
The surface is washed with Gjøco House Wash to remove grease, soap residues, and floor wax. Previously painted surfaces and factory parquet lacquer should be sanded matte, vacuumed, and wiped with a lint-free cloth, preferably microfiber. Be especially careful along edges, moldings, and door frames. The use of a floor sander/disc machine ensures even and thorough sanding. Perform a test application if the previous lacquer type or oil is unknown. Clean the floor before test painting to ensure good drying and adhesion.
Application method
Stir the lacquer thoroughly before and during use. On untreated wood, 2-3 coats of Gjøco clear coat are recommended. Previously lacquered surfaces require 1-2 coats. On cork, porous, and extra absorbent substrates, apply at least 5 coats. On untreated wood, the first coat of lacquer should be thinned with 10-20% white spirit. Any raised grain is sanded away with fine sandpaper. Sanding dust is thoroughly removed before the next coat, which is applied undiluted. Light sanding between coats is recommended to ensure adhesion.
Other information
Cans with the same production number must be mixed before use to avoid gloss differences. Thick layers and low temperatures increase drying time. Avoid exposing the lacquer to heavy stress (spills, pressure, etc.) during the first week after lacquering. Wait at least 3-4 days to place heavy furniture, etc., on the painted surface and 1 week before placing rugs.

Ready for use: Approx. 8 hours
Minimum application temperature: +5 °C. The best result is achieved by applying at room temperature.
Marine sealant (MS FUG) on ship floors can affect the paint's drying time. Perform a test application.
Area of application: Used indoors and outdoors on both new, untreated, and previously lacquered surfaces.
