About the product
Biokleen Trallskydd ECO is an eco-labeled wood protection (Bra Miljöval) based on silica technology. It is water-based and completely free from biocides – a conscious choice for those who care about the environment without compromising on results. The product is the second step in BIOkleen's wood protection system and gives the deck a beautiful, light silver-grey appearance that improves over time.
Suitable for: Pressure-treated wood and pine.

How to apply
Apply the product in 2 coats with approximately 1 hour of drying time between applications. Distribute the agent evenly and wipe off any excess. Over 6–8 weeks, the surface will gradually take on a lighter tone before finally becoming beautifully silver-grey.
Please note:
- Avoid direct sunlight and the risk of rain during application
- Do not apply to sun-warmed surfaces
- Do not use on decking under a roof (longer greying process)
- Can etch glass and discolor aluminum – cover sensitive surfaces
Tip: Best results are achieved on well-cleaned surfaces. Wash away oil and old surface treatments with BIOkleen Tralltvätt and let dry thoroughly before treating.

What surfaces is the product suitable for?
Biokleen Trallskydd ECO is suitable for pressure-treated wood and pine – especially deck floors, boardwalks, and outdoor terraces. Not to be used on decking under a roof.
How long does the color/product last?
The deck protection is long-acting. Over 6–8 weeks after application, the surface gradually assumes a silver-grey tone. The lifespan depends on exposure and wear – regular cleaning extends the result.
What does diffusion-open mean?
The product is not diffusion-open in the traditional sense – instead, it forms a silica-based barrier that protects the wood against moisture and fungus without completely sealing the surface.
How much do I need?
Expect about 1–2 L per 10 m² (first coat). For 30 m² you need about 3–5 L and for 50 m² about 5–8 L. The second coat requires a smaller amount.
What temperature can I paint/apply in?
Recommended outdoor temperature is 10–20 °C. Avoid application in direct sunlight, on sun-warmed surfaces, or when there is a risk of rain.
Do I need to prime?
No, but for best results you should first wash with BIOkleen Tralltvätt and let the surface dry thoroughly. Trallskydd ECO is step 2 in the system.
