Coasters with a pattern designed by William Morris (1834-96). A large number of Morris's patterns can be found at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London - the world's leading museum of art and design. Made in Sweden. William Morris was an English designer and writer, and is known as the leading figure of the Arts and Crafts movement in the 19th century. The movement had a major influence on interior design, craftsmanship, landscape gardening, and architecture, and advocated for a personal style rather than historical styles. William Morris's well-known patterns are derived from a great interest in nature and plants, where details from these are created into repeating patterns with a timeless design. Bachelor's Button is the English name for the cornflower, a wild-growing flower that inspired Morris during his walks in the English countryside. The material is FSC®-certified eucalyptus board with a printed paper on top, which is treated with a protective surface that makes the product very durable. The back is covered with a velvety flocked paper that ensures the coaster stays firmly in place. Made in Sweden. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
