-The wall must be solid and clean, with no loose wallpaper flakes or putty dust.

-If you have not removed all old wallpaper layers, which is recommended, it is a good idea to seal the wall by painting it with insulating/blocking paint. You do this to reduce the risk of the old wallpapers you are going to paper over bubbling. Suitable paint is Sigma Isotop Primer or Jotun’s Primer for wallpaper. Once painted, sand lightly and wash off with sugar soap.

-Where applicable, prime the wall, preferably white. The entire wall must have the same shade if the wallpaper is of the type mentioned in point 3 above.
