-The wall must be solid and clean, with no loose wallpaper flakes or filler dust.
-If you have not removed all old layers of wallpaper, which is recommended, it is a good idea to prime the wall with an insulating/sealing paint. This is done to reduce the risk of the old wallpaper bubbling when you apply the new one. Suitable paints are Sigma Isotop Primer or Jotun's primer for wallpaper. Once painted, lightly sand the surface and wash it with sugar soap or similar cleaning agent.
-Where applicable, prime the wall, preferably white. The entire wall must be of the same shade if the wallpaper is of the type mentioned in point 3 above.
