-The wall must be solid and clean, with no loose wallpaper flakes or filler dust.

-If you have not removed all layers of old wallpaper, which is recommended, it is a good idea to prime the wall with an insulating/blocking paint. You do this to reduce the risk of the old wallpaper bubbling under the new wallpaper. Suitable paint is Sigma Isotop Primer or Jotun’s wallpaper primer. Once painted, sand lightly and wash down with sugar soap.

-Where applicable, prime the wall, preferably white. The entire wall must be of the same shade if the wallpaper is of the type mentioned in point 3 above.
