Supervision and Maintenance
Protective anode (magnesium anode}
The water heater is equipped with a protective anode as standard. Its purpose is to sacrifice itself if pores have formed in the corrosion protection (enamel). The anode must be replaced when necessary, and no later than after 24 months.
If the anode is not replaced, the heater's warranty is void.
Contact your plumber for replacement.
Safety valve
The valve combination located at the cold and hot water connection has a safety valve fitted. It should be exercised a couple of times a year by turning its black knob until water comes out
in the spill pipe (note, be aware that it is hot)
Mixing valve
The purpose of the mixing valve is to mix the heater's water with the incoming cold water so that the desired temperature reaches the tap. Adjustable between 35-65° C. We recommend setting it to approx. 55° C
Emptying the heater
- Start by disconnecting the power by pulling out the heater's wall plug. Shut off the incoming cold water on the valve pipe.
- Open a hot water tap in the house.
- Turn the black knob (keep it in the open position) until it stops dripping from the spill pipe.
- Leave the hot water tap open during the time the heater is being emptied.
Cleaning
If the heater's outer casing needs to be cleaned, use regular dish/window cleaner and a cloth. Highly corrosive agents must not be used.
Resetting the overheat protection
If the heater for any reason becomes overheated, the overheating protection will trip. This can be reset by loosening the red knob on the bottom left of the heater and pressing the button. If the fault recurs, contact your installer.
