Supervision and Maintenance
Protective anode (magnesium anode}
The water heater is equipped with a protective anode as standard. Its purpose is to sacrifice itself if pores have formed in the corrosion protection (enamel). The anode must be replaced as needed, but no later than every 24 months.
If the anode is not replaced, the heater's warranty is void.
For replacement, contact your plumber.
Safety valve
The valve combination located at the cold and hot water connection has a safety valve installed. It should be operated a few times a year by turning its black knob until water comes out
in the drain pipe (note: be aware that it is hot)
Mixing valve
The purpose of the mixing valve is to mix the water in the heater with incoming cold water so that the desired temperature reaches the tap. Adjustable between 35-65° C. We recommend setting it to approx. 55° C
Draining the water heater
- Start by disconnecting the power by unplugging the heater. Shut off the incoming cold water at the valve pipe.
- Open a hot water tap in the house.
- Turn the black knob (keep it in the open position) until water stops flowing from the drain pipe.
- Keep the hot water tap open while the heater is drained.
Cleaning
If the heater's outer casing needs cleaning, use standard dishwashing/window cleaner and a cloth. Do not use highly corrosive agents.
Resetting the overheating protection
If the heater overheats for any reason, the overheating protection will trip. This can be reset by loosening the red knob on the bottom left of the heater and pressing the button in. If the fault recurs, contact your installer.
